Matamoros Blend: New this week

I am excited to unveil my new blend. Marty's Blend has been a popular coffee since we started offering it and so I have been working towards a second blend for a while now. It turns out, it is pretty hard to get a blend that is as good as our single-origin offerings. But I have settled on the right formula and I am now very pleased to offer our Matamoros Blend, which will be available at the market this week. This blend is a post-roast blend, as opposed to our Marty's Blend with is blended before roasting. This allows me to create a blend with the crisp brightness of a quality light roast mixed with the bold smokyness of a French roast. These two roasts are tied together with a medium roasted coffee for body. The end result is a complex blend that captures the full spectrum of roast flavors.

But, what I love even more than the flavor of this great blend is that we get to support the Esperanza Viva Matamoros Youth Home through our coffee sales. $2.00 from every bag will go directly to support the orphanage. Our church (The Vineyard Church: Katy) is one of the only financial supporters of this small orphanage in the border town of Matamoros, Mexico (just south of Brownsville). The orphanage offers a safe, loving home for children in Matamoros, and they give them an education so that they can pursue their dreams. We are excited to give you the opportunity, through buying tasty coffee, to affect the lives of children that really need our support. It's a win-win situation.
