First Cup Cafe: Our latest collaboration

I am excited to announce our latest collaboration with First Cup Cafe (located at 11525 S Fry Rd #110, Fulshear, TX, in Cross Creek Ranch). They are now the second independent coffee shop in the Katy area (Kosmos Coffee being the other one, also one of our clients). I think they have had a fabulous opening and if you have not gotten to check them out, I encourage you to stop by.

I stopped in the day they opened and met the owner, Keith. He and I immediately found we were on the same page about a lot of things. Like, good coffee and pretty decor are great, but what matters most is giving excellent customer service. Making people feel important and valued when they come in is what First Cup is all about. I came in a few days later to demo some of my coffee and already a few of my local customers had come in and asked if they had heard of FBCR. Thanks guys! Keith said, "I guess I better sell your coffee." He and his staff loved the coffee I brought and ever since we have been discussing how best to work together.

They have already started serving my Handlebar Espresso Blend on their beautiful La Marzocco espresso machine. I have also commissioned two new blends that will be available exclusively in the shop. 1. A medium roast called First Cup Blend, which will be a classic Caramel and Chocolate with some nutty notes and a citrus snap. 2. A dark roast called Cross Creek Blend, which will showcase my Mexico: Chiapas Jacinto along with other Central American coffees, for a deep, smokey cup. Also, they will be selling a rotating selection of my single-origin coffees. They will start selling the blends in a few weeks. They are currently selling a few of my single origins while we wait for the new First Cup bag labels to come in. You can pick up a bag of Mexico: Chiapas Jacinto, Brazil: Maurilio Braz Borges, and Ethiopia: Yirgacheffe at the shop this week (freshly roasted this morning!).

I am so excited that we have a new independent coffee shop in the area. I think they are going to be a great part of the community. Oh, and did I mention, they have a drive thru, so families with young kids, they've got you covered. My word of encouragement to all you coffee lovers in Katy. Support your local independent coffee shops! Many shops have come and gone in our area because they can't compete with the big guys (I'm looking at you, Starbucks!). If you live near First Cup Cafe (or near Kosmos Coffee), make it your neighborhood coffee shop. Make it your "third place." We will do our part by roasting the best coffees we can source and delivering them fresh. All you have to do is come and drink coffee.
